It’s been one year since TMC Rincon opened its doors to the community - a year of compassionate care, teamwork, dedication and of building a culture to be proud of.
“Starting a new hospital from the ground up is an opportunity to build a tone and culture,” said Dr. Gayle Dean, medical director of TMC Rincon. “And to continuously build a staff and environment that is supportive, nurturing, kind and safe – and filled with quality physicians so we can provide quality care.”
Dr. Dean says every day when she walks into work, sees the mural on the wall and is greeted by smiling volunteers, she feels welcome. It’s the way she hopes patients and visitors also feel while at TMC Rincon.
“Whoever walks through the door at Rincon can feel the tone that we set here - it’s feeling of being comforted and being supported,” she said. “That is accomplished by everyone that works here. They smile, say ‘hello, how are you’ and make you feel seen. That’s really important.”
Volunteer Teresa Rosenbalm said she lives in the area and remembers when the property was just a “tiny rock.”
“Now it’s become a beautiful building surrounded by wonderful people,” she said. “It’s just a big family. We’re fortunate because we have medical care, and everybody is treated so wonderful.”
The family-like atmosphere and culture are just part of what makes TMC Rincon so special. It also provides amazing care for people in our southeast communities. Check out this year in numbers (April 4, 2024-April 4, 2025):
· 15,093 patients served in the Emergency Department
